CONTENT GUIDELINES

These Content Guidelines (the “Guidelines”) establish the norms, standards, and common code of conduct governing all content, accounts, and user engagement on Meete (the “Software” or “App”). The Guidelines serve as a supplementary agreement to the Terms of Service, providing detailed guidance on what is permitted and what is prohibited within the community. Our App is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and creative environment where users can express themselves freely while remaining accountable to one another and to the community at large.

1. Scope and Application

1.1 These Guidelines apply to all users of our App, including but not limited to individuals, entities, and organizations that access, use, or interact with our App’s features, content, and services.

1.2 These Guidelines apply to all content you create, import, upload, send, publish, generate, receive or store through the Software or the Services (including any content generated by the artificial intelligence features we may provide, if applicable), including without limitation photos, videos, texts, profile avatars, audio recordings and other related materials (collectively referred to as “Your Content”).

2. Fundamental Principles

Our App operates upon the following fundamental principles, which underpin all provisions of these Guidelines:

2.1 Prevention of Harm — Our App prioritises the safety and well-being of its community and takes proactive measures to prevent, detect, and remove content that may cause harm to individuals or groups.

2.2 Freedom of Expression — Our App supports and protects the right to creative expression, provided that such expression does not violate applicable laws, these Guidelines, or the rights of others.

2.3 Inclusion and Respect — Our App is committed to fostering an inclusive community where all users are treated with dignity and respect, free from discrimination, harassment, and hateful conduct.

3. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Users shall not create, upload, share, or disseminate any content or engage in any conduct that falls within the following prohibited categories:

3.1 Violence and Criminal Activity

3.1.1 Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence, including threats of physical harm, organised violence, or acts of terrorism.

3.1.2 Content that depicts or encourages participation in violent activities intended to cause death, serious bodily injury, significant property damage, or public disorder.

3.1.3 Content that promotes, facilitates, or provides instructions for the manufacture or use of weapons, explosives, or other dangerous items.

3.2 Illegal and Regulated Goods

3.2.1 Content that facilitates the sale, trade, or distribution of illegal drugs, controlled substances, or regulated pharmaceuticals.

3.2.2 Content that facilitates the sale, trade, or distribution of firearms, ammunition, or other weapons in violation of applicable laws.

3.2.3 Content that promotes or facilitates human trafficking, smuggling, or other illegal activities.

3.3 Hate Speech and Discrimination

3.3.1 Content that attacks, threatens, or incites hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

3.3.2 Content that promotes supremacist ideologies or advocates for the exclusion, segregation, or subjugation of any group.

3.4 Harassment and Bullying

3.4.1 Content that targets, intimidates, or humiliates specific individuals or groups.

3.4.2 Content that engages in cyberbullying, doxxing (publishing private or identifying information without consent), or assisting in harassing activities.

3.4.3 Content that uses alternative spellings, homophones, symbols, numbers, or other obfuscation techniques to circumvent content moderation and engage in harassing or harmful conduct.

3.4.4 In addition to general harassment, the following Content is specifically prohibited in the App: (a) fetishization or dehumanization of individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability; (b) racial preference statements that are demeaning, exclusionary, or derogatory (e.g., ‘No [race/ethnicity]’ in a public profile in a manner that promotes discrimination); © unsolicited sexual advances or explicit sexual content sent to users who have not indicated interest or consent; (d) persistent messaging after a user has explicitly declined interest or blocked communication; and (e) using the App to collect personal information about other users for purposes of stalking, doxxing, or harassment outside the App.

3.5 Misinformation and Deceptive Practices

3.5.1 Content that disseminates false or misleading information that may cause significant harm to individuals, public health, or public safety.

3.5.2 Content that engages in deceptive practices, including impersonation, scams, phishing, or fraudulent schemes.

3.5.3 Content that depicts or uses the portrait, likeness, name, or personal information of any individual (including public figures, celebrities, or other users) without that individual’s explicit consent and authorization, for any purpose including personal use, commercial promotion or endorsement.

3.5.4 Content generated or modified by artificial intelligence that is misleading and fails to carry appropriate disclosure or labelling.

3.5.5 AI-Generated Profile Photos. Users are prohibited from using artificial intelligence-generated, synthetic, or materially altered photographs as their primary profile picture or avatar on the App. Profile photos must accurately and authentically represent the user’s actual appearance. Users may use AI-generated content in their photo galleries or stories only if such content is clearly and conspicuously labeled as ‘AI-generated’ or ‘Synthetic’ in the image caption or description.

3.5.6 Content that impersonates, falsely claims affiliation with, or misrepresents a relationship to us, our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, contractors, customer support representatives, moderators, or any other personnel of ours. This includes without limitation the use of our name, logos, branding, or employee names to deceive or defraud other users.

3.6 Sexual Content and Exploitation

3.6.1 Content that depicts, promotes, or facilitates sexual exploitation, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual sexual content, and sexual violence.

3.6.2 Content that depicts or promotes pornography, sexually explicit material, or sexual solicitation.

3.6.3 Content that engages in sexually suggestive conduct involving minors.

3.6.4 Content that promotes, facilitates, or solicits commercial sexual services, including but not limited to prostitution, escort services, compensated dating, sexual acts in exchange for money, gifts, or other consideration, or content that advertises or links to external platforms or services offering such activities.

3.6.5 Content that shares, threatens to share, or requests intimate or sexually explicit images or videos of any individual without their explicit, informed and voluntary consent.

3.7 Harmful and Dangerous Activities

3.7.1 Content that depicts or promotes activities that pose a significant risk of serious injury or death.

3.7.2 Content that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, or other behaviours that endanger physical or mental health.

3.8 Intellectual Property Infringement

3.8.1 Content that infringes upon the copyright, trademark, patent, or other intellectual property rights of third parties.

3.8.2 Content that facilitates the unauthorised distribution of copyrighted works.

3.9 Spam and App Manipulation

3.9.1 Content that constitutes spam, including repetitive, irrelevant, or unsolicited commercial messages.

3.9.2 Content that manipulates our App’s metrics, including fake engagement, bots, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour.

3.9.3 Content that interferes with our App’s generative AI tools or other technical systems.

3.9.4 Content or conduct that involves the unauthorized scraping, crawling, harvesting, data mining, or bulk downloading of other users’ content, profiles, images, or personal information from the App, whether through automated means (including bots, scripts, or crawlers) or manual collection, for any purpose including but not limited to creation of derivative databases, competitive analysis, or republication on other platforms, without our express prior written authorization.

3.9.5 Content or conduct that uses the App to promote, sell, or advertise products, services, or commercial opportunities, without proper legal authorization, or that otherwise violates applicable laws or regulations.

4. Commercial Use Compliance

Users acknowledge and agree that, pursuant to the Terms of Service, any content they upload, post or otherwise make available on the App (including photos, videos, text, profile avatars and activity information) may be used by us for the commercial promotion, marketing, advertising and brand-building activities of the App and our affiliated products and services, on a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable basis.

The details of our use Your Content for commercial purpose is set forth in the Terms of Service.

5. Minor Protection and Age-Appropriate Content

5.1 Any user who becomes aware of content or conduct that may pose a risk to a minor is strongly encouraged to report such content or conduct immediately to us via meeteapp@outlook.com. We will prioritize review of reports involving potential risk to minors.

5.2 We reserve the right to immediately terminate any account held by users under eighteen (18) or found to be in violation of the minor protection rules.

5.3 Adult users (aged eighteen (18) and over) are prohibited from soliciting, requesting, or encouraging any user they know or have reason to believe is under the age of eighteen (18) to share personal contact information, private images, or to meet in person.

5.4 Adult users are strictly prohibited from directing sexually explicit, suggestive, or otherwise inappropriate content or communications toward users they know or have reason to believe are under the age of eighteen (18).

6. Intellectual Property Complaint

If you believe your intellectual property rights have been infringed by content on the App as stated in Section 3.8 thereof, you may submit a notice of infringement to us. We will process such notices in accordance with the Applicable IP Laws. Users who repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights may have their accounts suspended or terminated. If you believe that your content was removed in error or due to misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. For detailed procedures, requirements regarding the contents of a notice or counter-notification, and your legal rights and obligations, please refer to Section 11 of the Terms of Service.

7. Sanctions

7.1 Our App employs a combination of automated moderation technologies and human review by safety professionals to identify, review, and take action against content that violates these Guidelines.

7.2 Upon determining that content or conduct violates these Guidelines, our App may take one or more of the following enforcement actions:

(a) Removal or restriction of access to the violative content;

(b) Issuance of a warning to the user;

© Temporary or permanent suspension of the user’s account;

(d) Restriction of certain features or functionalities available to the user;

(e) Referral to law enforcement authorities where the conduct may constitute a criminal offence.

8. Reporting and Appeal

8.1 Users may report content or conduct believed to violate these Guidelines by contacting us at meeteapp@outlook.com.

8.2 Users whose content or accounts are subject to enforcement actions may submit an appeal by emailing meeteapp@outlook.com. Appeals must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the enforcement action. We will acknowledge receipt of the appeal within forty-eight (48) hours and issue a decision within seven (7) business days. If the appeal is denied, the user may request a secondary review, which will be completed within fourteen (14) business days. We will provide the reasons for our final decision in writing. Users who submit three (3) or more frivolous appeals within a ninety (90) day period may be prohibited from submitting further appeals for a period of six (6) months.

9. Amendments and Updates

Our App reserves the right to amend, update, or modify these Guidelines from time to time to respond to evolving community behaviours, emerging risks, and changes in applicable laws and regulations. Your continued use of our App following such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.

10. Governing Law and Interpretation

10.1 These Guidelines shall be interpreted in accordance with the Terms of Service and applicable laws of the jurisdiction governing the user’s relationship with our App.

10.2 In the event of any conflict between these Guidelines and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service shall prevail.
